Japanese vowels and Japanese syllables

  06   Japanese syllables (5) ha, hi, fu, he, ho

Except for vowels which can stand alone, Japanese words are basically made up of simple syllables composed of one consonant and one vowel. Each syllable is stressed more or less evenly.

ha

hi
..... as in heel, but shorter

..... as in full

ho
..... as in home, but shorter

Let's pronounce the Japanese words.

(1)  ha na shi,  ho ku ho ku

(2)  hi sa shi,  fu ka su
