Japanese vowels and Japanese syllables

Except for vowels which can stand alone, Japanese words are basically made up of simple syllables composed of one consonant and one vowel. Each syllable is stressed more or less evenly.

sa
 ..... as in sun
shi
 ..... as in ship
su
 ..... as in suit, but shorter
se
 ..... as in send
so
 ..... as in so, but shorter

Let's pronounce the Japanese words.

(1) kaseki,  sakekasu

(2)  ku sa ki,  ko shi ka ke
